Organic Olive Oil


Organic oil is characterized by its extra quality. The key to achieving this is the quality control exercised over the olive trees, the press, cooperative members and the oil itself.

The quality of the olive trees is controlled by the Organic Agricultural Production Committee of Extremadura (Comité Extremeño de Producción Agraria Ecológica, CEPAE). All of our member farms are registered with this body.

The Cooperative is included in Extremadura's register of organic producers and distributors (Registro de elaboradores y comercializadores de producción ecológica de Extremadura), both for its pressing and packaging activities.

The organic extra virgin olive oil produced is subjected to the strict quality controls of the Organic Agriculture Committee of Extremadura (Consejo Regulador Agroalimentario Ecológico de Extremadura, CAEX).

The promotional brand ORGANICS DE EXTREMADURA guarantees that products obtained through organic production methods carrying its mark have been produced by enterprises located in Extremadura.

The Euro-leaf, the EU's organic logo, offers consumers full guarantees that the origin and quality of the foods and beverages it covers fulfil the requirements set out in the EU's organic agriculture regulations.

The National Organic Program (NOP) certification, in accordance with the Organic Food Production Act passed in the United States, guarantees that production systems are appropriate to the specific conditions of the soil, incorporating cultivation, biological and mechanical practices which encourage natural cycles, promote biological balance and preserve biodiversity.



The colour of the Verdial Badajoz olive variety ranges from green to yellow. It has a high fat content (22 per cent) and a high pulp/stone ratio. It has a low acidity, usually of less than 0.3 degrees.

According to organoleptic analyses carried out during tastings, its flavour is fruity and sweet with bitter and peppery overtones, depending on the time of harvest and pressing.

The categories of oil produced by the cooperative are organic virgin and extra virgin olive oil.

Under the brand name Verdial Lácara our oil has been judged to be one of the best in Extremadura, and its excellence has been recognized at the competitions Extrema Selección 2002 and I Concurso Nacional de Aceite de Oliva Virgen Extra Ecológico (1st National Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition), winning 1st and 3rd prizes respectively. We are proud to announce that we have also received international recognition at the BioFach 2010 awards held in Nuremburg, winning the consumer choice category.
